Begin with your story.
Symptoms, goals, history, daily life, and what you are worried about all provide context that a laboratory result cannot.
Henry E. “Hank” Burgess, MD, is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and brings more than two decades of clinical experience to care centered on the whole person—not a collection of numbers.
Dr. Burgess trained at Texas A&M University Health Science Center and completed his residency at Scott & White Memorial Hospital. He has also completed further continuing medical education in Functional Medicine, Longevity Medicine, and Obesity Medicine.

Thread6 is being built around a simple idea: better information is most useful when a physician has the time to put it into context.
Over more than 20 years in medicine, Dr. Burgess has seen the value of comprehensive primary care—and the limits of a system that often leaves too little time to explore risk, explain options, or build a truly individualized plan.
He created Thread6 to offer a more deliberate approach. The practice brings together the clinical breadth of Family Medicine, meaningful diagnostic data, and an ongoing physician relationship. The goal is not to chase every new test or trend. It is to identify what matters, understand why it matters, and translate that knowledge into practical next steps.
This is care for people who want to look beyond a routine snapshot of their health. Some may be working to improve metabolic health or body composition. Others may want to understand cardiovascular risk, preserve vitality as they age, or bring more clarity to a complex collection of symptoms and laboratory results. Each starts with listening.
Every recommendation should have a purpose, every plan should be understandable, and every patient should feel like an active participant in the decisions that affect their health.
Symptoms, goals, history, daily life, and what you are worried about all provide context that a laboratory result cannot.
Testing is selected and interpreted in clinical context, with attention to the decisions it can genuinely help inform.
Options are explained clearly, priorities are set collaboratively, and progress is reviewed as the plan evolves.
After more than 20 years in Family Medicine, Dr. Burgess has seen that better health rarely comes from chasing one number, one treatment, or the latest trend. It begins with understanding how the major influences on health work together—and deciding which changes matter most for the individual.
The Thread6 Precision Matrix is his integrated, physician-guided approach to understanding health through six interconnected Threads. It brings together the individual Strands and relationships that shape each person’s health, creating a dynamic picture designed to identify meaningful patterns, risks, and opportunities.
In short: don’t hack your biology. Understand it—with evidence, intention, and care that fits real life.
Promising ideas are considered with appropriate clinical judgment—not accepted simply because they are new.
Risk is evaluated early enough to support meaningful action while avoiding testing that cannot improve a decision.
Sustainable changes and useful follow-up matter more than rigid plans that do not fit real life.
